They train and place division students in teaching positions in the attempt to provide each CA/T member with teaching experience. They hope this experience will bolster participants’ professional careers and make their MFA more marketable upon graduation.]

SITE VISIT: MUSEUM OF TELEVISION AND RADIO

Learn more about Careers in the Media Industry, by joining the Columbia University Center for Career Education Friday April 20, 2007 at 1pm for a site visit at the Museum of Television and Radio.  Interested students should plan on RSVPing to this event (see below) and will meet at the Museum at 1pm.  The Museum is located at 25 West 52nd Street.

Join us for a tour of the museum along with a behind the scenes look at the professionals who have made careers out of offering programming through cultural media. Learn what type of candidate the Museum of Television and Radio looks to hire as well as find out if there are internships or volunteer positions available.

This conference will explore the nature of the science-art interface, the inspiration this interface provides to scientists and artists alike, and the impact of these interactions on art, research and other human endeavors. More specifically, the conference will focus on how biological objects—whether viruses, animals, plants, cells, or organelles—become an inspiration for certain artists’ work, and how scientists—ever so particular about accuracy and specificity—respond to such artistic representations.
